Hybrid Learning Article Series
Welcome! You are here because you are either curious about hybrid learning or planning to incorporate it into your teaching. To support your course design, we’ve created a series of four hybrid learning best practice articles based on a published flipped classroom design framework supported by pedagogical theories and past DELTA Grant experiences.
Before applying the design strategies outlined in the series, it would work best to have the following components ready as the basis of your course design. You can make a copy of the linked worksheets and use the embedded custom AI tools within the worksheet to develop each component.
- Course Objectives and Competencies
- Content Structure and Learning Schedule
- Week/Topic/Semester-Level Application Contexts
Once you have the all components that help you put together the high-level structure of your course, you would be fully ready to follow the design strategies and best practices below:
- Getting Started: Overview of Hybrid and Flipped Learning Design Strategies
- Article 1: Creating the Hybrid and Flipped Learning Cycle (Design Strategies 1.1-1.3)
- Article 2: Designing Online Self-Paced Learning (Design Strategies 2.1-2.3)
- Article 3: Designing In-Class Active Learning (Design Strategies 3.1-3.3)
- Article 4: Designing After-Class Transfer of Learning (Design Strategies 4.1-4.2)
- Hybrid/Flipped Learning Design Framework Outline
To receive step-by-step DELTA guidance in developing the structural components and applying the design strategies, please apply for the DELTA Hybrid Learning Grant. The application window is open around mid-April to early May each year.
